Chapter 1 – Chapter 1 – The Night a Billionaire Threw His Own Father Out

The Hale mansion glittered beneath crystal chandeliers. Investors, celebrities, and business partners had gathered to celebrate Alexander Hale’s latest deal. At forty-five, Alexander was a billionaire who measured success by the size of a room and the number of people waiting to impress him. His seventy-six-year-old father, Richard, stood near the fireplace in an old brown jacket, carrying a small wrapped gift and an antique brass key.
Alexander approached with his wife Vanessa, whose gold dress caught the light. “I told you not to come,” he said.
“I came because you are my son,” Richard answered. “And because this house still means something to me.”
Vanessa gave a cold smile. “You should have stayed home.”
Richard looked at his son. “Your mother would have wanted us together.”
Alexander’s expression hardened. “Do not bring her into this. You don’t belong here anymore!”
He grabbed Richard’s arm and shoved him. The old man fell onto the carpet beside the staircase. Guests gasped. Vanessa laughed and called him a burden.
Richard slowly pulled himself upright. From his jacket he produced the brass key. “You should remember who gave you this house.”
Alexander snatched it and threw it down. “It’s mine.”
“Ask your lawyer who really owns it,” Richard replied.
The front doors opened. Mr. Brooks entered carrying a thick legal folder. “The deed is registered in your father’s name,” he announced. “He never transferred ownership.”
Alexander stared at him. Brooks opened the folder. “And there is one more document you need to see.”
The party had ended, but the real confrontation was only beginning.
